Sewing Sessions meet once a week and are 1 1/2 hours long. Each student starts out making a basic project from Skill Level 1. From there, students choose projects in their level and progress at their own pace. They advance through the Skill Levels while learning how to read guide sheets and patterns, learning about the different fabrics and grain lines. Proper sewing and pressing techniques are taught in every class. Students are required to purchase their own fabric and notions for each project. Complete and partial sewing kits are available for most beginner projects. Patterns and directions are provided for each kit. There are over 50 projects to choose from. And ~ students never have homework!
Our classes are kept small so everyone receives the attention and help they need! We feel this is one of the most important things when learning how to sew. Since classes are small, they do fill fast. And classes fill on a first come first served basis. We can not reserve a spot without payment. Tuition is due the first class of the month and at the beginning of every month thereafter. Discounts are given for additional family members. One make-up class per session is available for excused absences only and must be arranged in advance.
Wednesday - American Sewing Girl Class
This is a special kids class for students wanting to learn to sew by making only American Girl items! Students sew clothing (dresses, pants, robes, aprons) and accessories (sleeping bag, quilts, totes, backpack, hair bling). Students also can bring their A.G. dolls to class. We have special parties for the dolls, share fun facts, try A.G. treats! We even have special Sleep-overs just for American Sewing Girls and their dolls!
