My Philosophy

I love teaching kids to sew! But that’s just the beginning. I encourage kids to stretch their creative minds and not just copy the sample. I expect them to take the time to think a step ahead and really focus on what they’re doing. I inspire them to figure things out before immediately asking for help.

In doing all this, kids become more engaged with their inner abilities and become much more interesting as a whole.

I love the fact that I teach kids life long skills. And they develop self-confidence and incredible inventiveness along the way. It’s an incredible tranformation to watch!

“A great sewing school. Wonderful teacher with a great and warm environment. Excellent classes for beginners to
intermediate students for all ages.” Deidra C.

Hello! I’m Cheryl.

I opened the doors in 2006, thinking I was just opening a sewing school. But after a very short time I realized it was so much more!

I’ve taught thousands of students, (over 4,500 in fact), of all ages and skill levels. And yes, they learn to sew. But parents have told me their child has also developed more self-confidence, patience and focus in their school work. Adults and kids both find a wonderful and much needed creative outlet. My students learn to have respect for the industry. Because someone, somewhere is working hard to produce clothing and other items we shop for everyday.

My students make real friends. It’s like an old fashioned sewing circle. They discuss their accomplishments and difficulties of the day. They cheer each on and lift each other up.

It is so much more than just a sewing school! And it is an amazing opportunity for me to participate in my students’ incredible transformation.
